Archeological Glass

Blackfriary Glass: come from a Dominican Blackfriary located in Ireland

These stained-glass pieces are one of the more significant finds from the excavation of The Friary, which was founded in 1263. They are rare occurrence as Ireland has no surviving medieval glass still intact in windows. The cross-hatching pattern on the glass is indicative of the 13th century while the floral patterns are that of the 15th century.
